My interests fall under the umbrella of medical education.
After residency training in emergency medicine at an urban, inner city hospital in NYC, I discovered my passion for teaching health providers (both nurses and doctors) in becoming more effective clinicians and more effective teams.
To this effect, I supplemented my training with advanced skills in medical simulation and patient safety / clinical quality; and ultimately led me to complete a doctorate in education, with an emphasis on adult learning.
In the last few years, I have discovered that effective patient-centered care can be achieved through thoughtful instructional design, experiential learning via simulation training, and reflective practice -- all of which can be further supplanted with the inclusion of design and innovation.
